To connect your Gmail/Google Workspace inbox with credentials (SMTP), you have two options: Create an app password (Recommended) OR enable less secure apps.

Note: If you're a Gmail user (free account ending with "@gmail.com"), you'll only be able to connect your inbox using the "App Password" option.

Option 1: App Password (Recommended)

You'll need to create an app password (a unique password that you'll use to connect your inbox to Warmbox).

Step 1: Enable 2-Step Verification

Enabling 2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of protection to your Google account and is mandatory to create an app password.

1. From the Google account that you want to connect to Warmbox, open your Google account settings

2. Go to the "Security" section in the left-bar menu

3. Click on "2-Step Verification"

Note: If the "2-Step Verification" is not available, ask your Google Administrator to "Allow users to turn on 2-Step Verification" in this menu.

4. Click on "GET STARTED"

5. In the Google pop-up, input your credentials

6. Add your phone number as a Two-Factor Authentication and click on "Next"

7. You'll receive a text message with a code. Input this code in the dedicated field and click on "NEXT"

8. Click on "TURN ON"

9. Congrats! You enabled 2-Step Verification ✨

Step 2: Create an App Password

1. From the Google account that you want to connect to Warmbox, open your Google account settings

2. Go to the "Security" section in the left-bar menu

3. Click on "App passwords"

4. Select "Mail" in the app field and "Other (custom name)" in the device field

5. Input "Warmbox" as a value, and click on "GENERATE"

6. A pop-up with a password will appear. Copy the 16-character password in the yellow area and click on "DONE"

7. Congrats! You created an App password for Warmbox ✨

You can now use this password, with your email address as credentials to connect your inbox to Warmbox and start the warm-up!

Option 2: Authorize Less Secure Apps

You'll need to authorize Google to connect your inbox to Warmbox with your actual password.

Step 1: Ask your admin to "Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps"

1. As an admin, go to the "Less Secure Apps" settings in the "Security" section

2. Click on "Allow users to manage their access to less secure apps" and then on "SAVE"

3. Congrats! You can now allow access to Less Secure Apps ✨

Step 2: Edit "Less secure app access"

1. From the Google account that you want to connect to Warmbox, open your Google account settings

2. Go to the "Security" section in the left-bar menu

3. Click on the "Less secure app access" section

Note: If the "2-Step Verification" is activated on your account, you won't be able to edit the "Less secure app access". In such a case, you'll need to create an app password (see the guide above).

4. Turn "ON" the "Allow less secure apps" option

5. Congrats! You can now connect your Gmail account to Warmbox using your regular credentials ✨
